I wonder if it is possible to add a little symbol (like the sun used on ebay) to show something is a new item on Latest posts.
That way it would be easy to find things that havent been already answered.

You can see all the newest questions by clicking on the The Answerbank logo (with deckchairs, beach, umbrella, sun) in top left corner just above where it says "Welcome Back grasscarp"

I don't think that would work.
Very often the first answer is the OP correcting an error in the first post.
There is no guarantee that the first (or second or third) answer fully addresses the problem or is even correct.

Often the OP is looking for a debate, or an opposing opinion, and more than one answer is required.

It is not a great effort to click a link, read it and ignore it.

Thank you for the info factor. That helps a lot.
I can remember when we didn't have a 'latest posts', you just had to look at the threads and see which were starting to move. It was tough back then, but we did have coloured letters, an editing box and we could underline and enbolden straight from the screen
aye, Dot, we lived in a shoebox in the middle of the M1 but we could do invisible writing.
Wish Dot could still do invisible writing.

:D *joke*
That's not bad. You mean as new questions are posted, or threads you haven't looked at before?

While Factor makes a good point, it doesn't mean this isn't also a good idea.

This is back when AB was in sepia.
yes and the monks never stopped pedaling
Actually, thinking about it - it's kind of against the grain of the lastest posts box isn't it? The box is about seeing things that are "happening right now" - so to mark some as "new" doesn't really fit...
I remember when people moaned when we got the latest posts box!!

Ab Editor, what I meant was something to mark it as a new thread, just been started, no answers yet.....
I tend to look at the latest posts and click on it to get a completed thread with the poster saying thanks (I am usually interested in quizzes/puzzles). I just thought to see at a glance where I might have a chance to get in first!
Don't forget there is also the 'unanswered' tab at the top of the topic page too.
Good point mamya - but impatient people like me don't often go into the Topics, I just see what's in LP!
I was only thinking if Grasscarp wanted to answer mainly quiz/crosswords then she could try that route.
Good point, mamya :-)

I do that as well Mamya. : o )

snap Boxtops!
I always think "unanswered" is the "hard mode" tab :)
Is that nerdy 'Gamespeak' ?
We only have 91 unanswered questions in non Q&P and CB questions - do you know any of the answers? http://www.theanswerbank.co.uk/?cftype=all_unanswered&page=5
