Then they smashed the rock/ball out of the TV and grabbed the lager.
I can't remember who performed the track, but I did buy it at the time; it's probbaly up my Mum's loft.
The best series of ads for a drink was for Tennants Special. There was the one with the "Blues Brothers" laying by the pool, supping Tennants Special and doing fancy dives into the water. "Esta multe bueno by the way".
Then playing golf late at night while a boring wedding takes place; enter the "BB's" switch the heavy for Tennants Special, and hey presto, part time with the bride swinging from the chandelier in her underwear. Cut to the boys walking across the golf course, one of them carrying a keg on his shoulder. "Is that Heavy Wullie?" "Naw; Special" came the reply.
The follow up to that one saw the boys turn a street corner and stumble into the Edinburgh Military Tattoo. Cue Scottish rock music, one of the boys snatches the Drum Major's stick, the other plays his keg as a side drum. Ends with them walking away down quiet street as one says to other "I never knew you had a Tattoo Wullie?" "Aye" was the reply.
Absoluely brilliant ads.
