Movie Or Dream...?

So I saw a movie, or I think I did, but nobody I would have watched it with has any recollection of the story (I only have vague recollection myself!), I don't know what it was called or who was in it. I'm absolutely convinced I saw it though. Please somebody tell me what it is!!! Here's all I can remember:
There's a woman who is either assaulted or killed at the start, her husband is in the hospital waiting room. A man comes in (lets call him pete) and tells the husband he can help him find who did it, the husband refuses and pete leaves his business card. Next day pete turns up again, the husband agrees to let him help. In return all the husband has to do is deliver an envelope to another person (lets call him john). So John receives the envelope, inside is the picture of a man who has done something bad and John has to kill him, which he does. Husband thinks this is payment complete until he gets given en envelope with a photo in of the person he then has to kill. He isn't going to kill him but ends up in a fight on a bridge, the guy falls over the bridge and dies. Husband gets arrested and pete has the CCTV showing that he didn't really push him over and it was an accident so the blackmail deepens. There is more but if you don't recognise it from that you probably wont at all!!!
