Mr Q is watching a BBC4 programme called the Two Thousand Year Old Computer and the endless background music is driving him crazy!!! Why do the BBC feel they need to do this. People have complained on the Saturday morning news programme but complaining to the BBC about anything usually gets a reply of "We think..."
I must admit its very annoying listening to the music/noises going on at the moment.
Rant over.

The background music spoils all programmes, we watch the Crime Channels on Sky and the background music is unbearable we just want to know the story not listen to the constant thudding etc, there are no subtitles which would help, I would love to know who we can contact to complain!!

My opinion is that a lot of this stuff is made by the BBC for sale overseas, especially that home of science for Bubba and Clyde, The Discovery Network + NatGeo where if nothing's going on for a nanosecond, viewers head to the fridge and forget to come back.

You could well be right!

I don't think it's unique to the BBC - and yes I agree it's extremely annoying.
I'm watching it now and I don't agree.
Try turning your bass down and your treble up

Thanks Mojo, we'll give that a go.
Almost every documentary programme is guilty of this - and it ruins them for us. On the BBC, once the 'tinkling piano' music begins we switch off. Channel 5 is worse with a constant thumping, distracting beat over whatever is showing on the screen: never watch it now.
I have just heard MUSE on there? Is this the one you mean?
To my way of thinking, you don't get it in real life, so why drown a programma with it. I have a hearing problem so miss most of the dialogue in many programmes because of the overloud unnecessary and unwanted 'background' music. Rant over!
