Recently bought a used Renault Laguna from Virgin Cars but it only had one key.  Well its not really a key more like a credit card that fits into a slot.  Went to Renault to buy a spare and it cost me 70 plus for the blank and then 80 plus for them to code it into my car.   Total so far of 154.00.  When I collected the car and new spare key I was then advised to go to a locksmiths to get emergency key (which slots inside the credit card) cut as this was not included.  Tried three locksmiths up to now who were unable to help me.  Anyone had this trouble before and how much is it eventually going to cost me?

i have the same problem , i was locked out of my laguna as i had no key, luckily i left a window slightly ajar

a new lock and key is about 80 ive been told
Renault want 160 including part to fit
i bought a new key off ebay for 40
then renault only charged me 45 to code it asd it should of only taken 30 minutes, you were ripped off

there is apparently a way of coding them using the wiper control end button (does nothing) in your car and the central door lock button , havent found out how yet
