Personally I think both Labour and the Tories have missed the point totally.

What about immigration, millions to overseas aid, The EU? These are why people are primarily turning to UKIP.

I also like the quote at the bottom:
//Labour claims the Government has only "fixed the economy for those at the top".//

Unfortunately Labour seems to have forgotten to say " and we managed to bankrupt it for all"

They are not trying to 'Woo' UKIP voters they are trying to keep the ones they've got from defecting to UKIP.
I'd agree with Retrochic.

The Tories' lack of an activated Immigration Policy leaves them seriously wide open to attack my UKIP, who can and will exploit the constant promises by the Tories to tackle the issue, followed by inaction.

Therefore, their best bet is to appeal to the extremely short memories that the electorate always have, and offer them an apparent immediate and foolproof policy to secure thir votes.

Don't worry, if they get back in, they can soon forget about this promise, as elected parties tend to do.
If Labour get back in we can say goodbye to a curb on immigration or of coming out of Europe, and the economy will take a nose dive due to their reckless spending, but whatever party gets in both will still continue to increase overseas spending.

On the other hand the Tories have had five years to either get back our border control or get out of Europe completely, but with Cameron's wish to continue for this country to be ruled by Brussels there is no hope.

At least with UKIP we now have a party that is willing to take note of what the majority of the British people want, so perhaps it will take another five years of another Labour government before they are strong enough to form a government.

I think Labour will have to ditch Ed and maybe push Harriet forward for the next General Election to have any chance of forming a Government. Ed Milliband just does not even look like the face of Labour, creepy man with no 'curb appeal' what so ever.
harriet, rightly or wrongly, is tainted by PIE.

Only if there's a bus coming.
When we realize that these people in politics will say anything to get into power then we can decipher what is best for the country. Eddie claims to be passionate about what he say ok Ed you live on the breadline day in day out and in ten years comeback and we will let you know At .least with the tories you know what you will get .Answers on the back of a postcard to Weecalf .
Svjek not so certain on that point. I thought she handled and explained the situation quite well and showed the story up for what it was -a witch hunt.

Andy, Ret

I didn't say they were trying to woo UKIP voters did I ?

Please read the question not jump to what you want me to have said.
If the financial melt-down in 2008 was all Labour's fault, as you never tire of claimng, YMB, how come one of the first bank-casualties was Lehman Brothers, a major American bank? Was Gordon Brown moonlighting as the CEO of that organisation - and others worldwide - whilst conning us into believing he was our full-time Chancellor?
And what would the Tories have done had they been in power, when British banks started to crumble...refused to shore them up and thus destroy just about everybody's financial arrangements?
Thirdly, do you seriously believe that the crisis had nothing whatsoever to do with the very casino bankers who fund the Tories and are amply rewarded by regular tax cuts?
I don't think it's really intended to woo potential UKIP voters, but it might redress the balance a little from Gordon's pilfering of our pension pots.

Did I say that? No I didnt.

They overspent and left the kitty empty meaning we had no reserves left to fight the global crisis.

No...can't fathom that out at all.
potential is the word that makes all the difference, imo. But, ymb must speak for himself.
I don't think 'potential' in that context drastically changes the meaning of the reply.
Retro has the answer here, at least in the first post. The Tories are on the run from UKIP, as everybody has predicted. Even Lord Ashcroft now realises that they are not going to win next May :::

http://www.theguardian.com/politics/2014/sep/28/labour-comfortable-victory-lord-ashcroft

As long as they on the run, we can expect more panic measures from Osborne and Co. They are running scared...its a simple as that.
But from here:

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/politics/conservative/11126612/Labour-will-win-comfortable-majority-at-general-election-says-Lord-Ashcroft.html

//Despite the difficult news for the Conservatives, Lord Ashcroft said that the Liberal Democrats were in a far worse position, haemorrhaging voters who had been disillusioned by their performance in government.
The Conservatives are not currently in a position to take any seats off Labour, but several Lib Dem seats, including Berwick upon Tweed, Chippenham, Somerton and Frome, St Austell and Newquay, and Wells, could turn blue. //

Don't count your spinning chickens, Mikey …..
