Lenovo G570 Won't Start Up
18 Answers
I have a Lenovo G570. Randomly one day it just refused to start up. Basically when you press the power button it lights up for a few seconds and you hear the system fan start but then it just switches off. I have tried removing ram modules and the hard disk and starting to see if they were the cause, I have also tried
- a different motherboard
- a different power button
- 2 power supplys
- replacing the cable that the power connects
I have tried only plugging in the power and the power button plus the cooling fan to the board and switching on and the same things happens (on two boards)....the power light lights up for 2-3 seconds and the fan spins and then it just shuts off. I have litterally replaced everything and can't see what it is.
I have found a you tube video showing what it does but its in Russian or something.....but FYI -
Please help, have tried Lenovo and they are useless!!
Thanks

Plenty of them near me and they all give quotes. I had a Lenovo for 7+ years and it eventually had to be given the old heave ho and I got a new Lenovo in August. Sorry, I'm of no help. Hans is the person to help you and hopefully he will be along soon to answer your query.
Hi, I have replaced the cable between power source and mother board, same thing. I have tried plugging in the motherboard with no CPU on it and the same thing happens.
I don't want to pay a shop to do what I can do to be honest and I can't see what else there is to try.
Right now I have a bare motherboard with only a power button and a dc cable for the ac adapter plugged into it and the power button lights up for a few seconds and then switches off the same thing happens on two mother boards.....

@janbee......I am flattered by the fact of your are thinking that I could help our member andydingdangdoo. To be very honest, I shake in my shoes whenever I open-up a Computer to replace a part. I think it would be fair to say that I am better out than in. (Sorry if that sounds rude...but it's true even if interpreted out of context.)
Hopefully someone like Methyl, Buenchicho or some other AB Techie will come along to assist matters.
Hopeless Hans.
