Saturday. A bit brighter this morning. It hammered down yesterday morning.

A charter today, but an early start as I have to collect the boat from the boatyard first. All good fun innit!

Tiggy was out to his other territory two gardens down before returning at 10.20. He headed straight to the big lavender bush. I'm going to have to investigate that! :o}

Have a happy day everyone.

Morning becca my lovely xxx :o} Nice to see you.

Not so good to see you've had a rotten week.

Too cloudy for a sunrise of note here. the clouds do seem to be breaking up though. I might not get wet! :o}
Been awful really, my lovely Dad passed away on Sunday, I'll miss him very much :-( but he brought great joy to my life and I'm proud he was my dad.
Anyway don't want to bring doom & gloom to you so let's embrace the day & be thankful for what we have xxx

That is sad news news becca. I know how you're feeling. I'm sure you have many happy memories of times you have spent with him.

It's not doom and gloom at all. It's a natural, and right, reaction. It's OK to talk about him, I still talk about my Vera, :o}

Ah bless you, it's good have nice memories and we are lucky to have them, my sister & I have organise a lovely send off for him with a lovely lady coming to talk all about his life, he wasn't a religious man so she has written a fantastic story of his life, it's lovely. I feel happy and sad at the same time :-) xxx

I had the same for my Vera, a humanist service. there was much laughter, which was just what she wanted. To celebrate her life, not mourn her leaving this world. I did my my wee recital that she had asked me to do.

Lots of lovely memories of places we've been and people we've met. :o}
That's exactly what we wanted for him, funny stories ( and there's a few he was a character!!) somehow makes it easier to know there will be humour amongst the sadness, he had a good old life and I hope I'm lucky enough to have full life like him xxx
Question Author
That's the best way becca. It puts everyone at ease. You can do your grieving in private, the way it should be.

What did he do for a living, apart from love and care for you and the rest of the family? And what took him from you? I'm being nosey aren't I!
morning boaty xx becca xx thinking of you at this very sad time..I will light a candle and sat a wee prayer for your dad and his safe keeping in a nicer place ..

a quick look in as a change of plans..going to Gardening Scorland today as weather tomorrow is going to be horrid...so have to get in shower and empty car boot in order to be away by 7.30 ish...so see you tomorrow..

Becca ..remember the good times..memories are yours to treasure always xx

Morning minty xxx Have a happy day minty xxxxx :o}
No not all being nosey, he was long distance lorry driver when he was working, but had to finish work at 53 as he had quite a big stroke, he didn't let that get him down tho, he was strong as an ox and carried on living his life till 85, he passed away in his sleep & mum found him on Sunday morning, he looked really peaceful and cosy and I'm glad for him to go that way, it's what we all hope for, he made me laugh so much with the things he got up too so I have brilliant memories of him xx
Ah thank you Murray that's lovely of you :-)) xxx
Question Author
becca that is the way to go. Those memories will keep you going through the years to come. The will be tears and there will be smiles and laughter. That's the way of it, the way it should be. you may well feel his presence at times, Vera still comes to see me sometimes. i know when she's here, it's a lovely feeling.

He did well to reach that fine age, especially after a big stroke. That tells me he loves you all very much. As I say, I'm sure he will be back occasionally.

My Vera left the world on a Monday. On the Friday night, about 11 PM. I was in bed reading when she walked through the bedroom door looking exactly as she did when I first met her, and wearing the same clothes. We could talk and I could smell her wonderful personal aroma. she stayed for about half an hour then said she had to go, but would be back. She still does, after nearly 4 years.
Oh that's is lovely wbm must bring you great comfort, I would love to see him again, we were very much alike so maybe I will be luckyxx

good morning all

Rebecca, please accept my sympathies for your loss - it is tough to lose a close father, as i found out christmas eve 2005, but remembering all the good times is the best way to deal with it and carry on
