I think you have slightly misconstrued what ummmm meant. Sometimes AB users want to ask a personal question without the regulars knowing who it is so they register in another name to ask and then no one will know who they are. Happy New Year to you to.

I don't think you can, MissLead.

You can't.

That's a No then - Could it be something to be worked on?
here is the topic for site suggestions http://www.theanswerbank.co.uk/Answerbank-Suggestions/
If you want to ask a question without it being in your current name, you could use another e-mail address, register using a new name and then ask your question.

I take it MissLead is not your real name so why can't you ask in this user name?
Question Author
I'm not trying to ask in another name - I'm just asking if there's a way that access to answers can be confined to those who have have registered to AB.

Duuuh! Ummmmmmmmm
no, this is ANSWERbank, why would the owners want to limit access to the answers?
and rudeness is never attractive
I am curious Miss Lead as to why you are concerned that non "members" are able to access the site. What harm are they doing to you.?

I would imagine that the present system is the best way for the site to obtain new blood for the future. If people cannot see what the site is all about then why would they want to "join".?

After all it is not a Masonic / Eastern Star or Knights of St. Columba type of organisation.
Miss Lead when you first came across this site, I am sure you were not a member, thus enabling you to see all what was posted. Then like me, you liked what you saw and joined up! :-)
What's the question?
AB members aren't a small elite group either. There's 1000s of them apart from the 50 or so you see everyday :-)
Many are reading.
That's it Tilly, straight to the point!

Ummm, I don't suppose that is your real name either.- what does "why can't you ask in this user name" actually mean? Should I ask questions pretending to be you or what? I am totally confused by these responses.
Happy new year.
Happy New Year Miss Lead - sorry you got confused.

Put simply this is an open site , only members can post Q&As but everyone can view - if you feel you would be identified because of that then best not to ask the question.
It means post under your own name ( MissLead). The only people that would know who you are realy would be anyone that you've told.
