Best Way , Site To Sell My Car

i have put my car on gumtree and another well known site to sell. its a late 2011 ds3 diesel with 38000 miles, good condition etc. though i have not had one call even though i put it on for a very reasonable price at £6700.

i was offered a trade in they gave me £5750 i didnt take it , it was against a £13,000 hyundai ix35 .

then a company called carbuyer told me to take my car to one of their people in belfast yesterday and they would give me £5800 cash , i took the car but after the guy inspected it he said there were chips on paint work and scuffs on alloys, i never noticed them before so i looked and the chips he was on about i could even see at first but then i noticed and they were the size of a pin head i expalined that these were absolutely minute !! then they offered me way below the original offer so i left i reckon they do this with everyone they think is desperate enought to need the cash .

i might try autotrader now . what do you think is good way to sell a car, bearing in mind people just do not have the cash now to buy and finance i think is getting harder isnt it ?

Depends whether you want the hassle of 'tyre-kickers' coming round and wasting your time, or second hand car dealers phoning you every hour offering you stupidly low prices versus part exchanging. I would have gone with the Hyundai deal personally.

i want a hyundai but it was costing me another £6250 to trade !! im tempted but then in 3 years time the hyundai will drop dramatically in price too.

i did want the 5800 cash from carbuyer to go to england where there was a 2011 hyundai on ebay for £7000

I would NEVER buy a car from eBay. Especially one in another country. You're innocence on certain subjects sometimes makes me think all your posts,are,a wind-up.

I have sold cars via Autotrader, its okay (the cars sold) but you do have to deal with the usual Tyre kickers and people that expect massive discounts on the asked price, its also good to see what prices other people are selling the same car for. the downside is you have to pay to advertise, the upside is that Autotrader is one of the biggest car sales publications so hits a bigger audience.

nothing wrong with buying a car on Ebay you just have to treat it the same as any other purchase. I've bought plenty you just have to go through the same process as any private purchase.

no, its actually lower priced at £6700. 38000 on clock, good nick so its just below average on price.

Which car are referring to as a "bucket of sh**"? The one you're trying to sell or have you bought the Hyundai?

If it's the car you're trying to part exchange I think I would accepted the original offer to get rid of it.

I think some people are a bit twitchy about buying a diesel at the moment, with the extra congestion charges in London, the very real threat of higher road tax and who knows what other penalties the government might dream up?

I think the new price of £5999 is a much better starting point. I assume you would still accept £5800 which is the price you were going to accept from Carbuyer
