I seem to remember being told, though, that people who voted Leave were not against migration per se - they were just against uncontrolled migration, and against illegal immigration. Here, though, the Leavers seem to be delighted with a government decision to penalize people who are here legally, self-sufficient and in millions of cases married to British spouses.
What exactly have these people done wrong? Because as far as I can tell, the only answer appears to be "exist as a foreigner in the UK".
