Anyone give me any recommendations/advice on the best way to filter/purify/ionise - etc etc etc air inside the home?

I have an oldschool Ionizer which seems to work - but the dirt that accumulates around it is annoying - especially since it is in a room full of clothing and fabrics, which cant just be wiped down.
So is there something better i can get?

I have asthma, and allergies to airborne particles like dust, mould, cats, dogs, horses and feathers.

joko...you need to see a copy of April 2017 Which?...a big article on air pollution in the home and how to improve it AND a big test of air purifiers...the two Best Buys were the Philips AC3256/30 and the Vax ACAMV 101 at £380 and £250 respectively.
