To help in your Fantasy football planning.

Following on from my "question" yesterday about the team that won the league - Chelsea - here is an email about the team that finished second - Spurs.

Spurs have had two good seasons - finishing third two years ago, and second last season. However they have not actually WON any trophies in those two years.

This year (as last year) they are playing in the Champions League.

They have had a very good defence, and let in less goals than any other Premier team in the last two seasons. This has been based on two good central defenders in Alderweireld and Vertonghen with two excellent wing backs in Walker and Rose.

However Walker has been sold to Man City for about £45 million, and Rose missed the last 17 games of last season through injury, and so far has not appeared in any pre-season friendlies, so he will probably miss the start of the season.

So their defence may be less secure than it was over the last two seasons.

Spurs do have a crop of exciting young outfield players such as Alli, Dier, Erikson, Son and Kane and these can all probably be relied upon to score fantasy points this season.

However this season Spurs are building themselves a NEW ground, on the site of the OLD ground, so this year they are playing all their home matches at Wembley.

They tried doing this last season by playing all their Champions League matches at Wembley but it was not a success so this may have a big impact on how they perform this season.

The other thing that may impact this season is their failure to buy one single player. In fact they are the only team in the Premier League not to gain a single player.

They also have injuries with Rose, Son, Wanayama and Lamela all injured (Lamela missed most of last season).

Spurs do have a fairly small squad, and have yet to add to it this season, but if they avoid any major injuries they should be ok.

Their midfield and strikers should all score good fantasy points, but their defence may not be as secure as previous years.

The two biggest problems they will have this season are coping without Walker in defence, and playing at Wembley.
