Macbook Air And Macbook Pro

I am looking at going from Microsoft to Apple
I have been looking at the MacBook Air and MacBook Pro
The only difference other than price is that the Air has USB ports and a card reader that the Pro dose not have
Also the Intel i5 processor speed on the Air is 1.8 against Pro 2.5
Resolution Air 1440 x 900 against Pro 2560 x 1600
Intel HD Graphics 6000 Air against Pro iris plus graphics 640

Would this make much difference when using the Air ?

The MacBook Air doesn't have Retina Display; the New MacBook and the MacBook Pro does, giving a much clearer screen and that's the big difference for me, but other people might not notice the disparity.

As jomlett says, so it depends on what you want to do with your Mac.

Mac displays are excellent, but you do pay through the nose for them (although that comment really only applies when you have to buy a separate screen, say with a Mac Mini, where the choice is between a couple of hundred quid for a decent Dell monitor and nearly a grand for a Mac monitor).

If you're not too bothered by graphic quality, then go for the faster Pro unless the lack of USB ports would bother you. No easy answer, I'm afraid!

A friend of mine has the Pro and I must admit Retina Display looks fantastic. However, I am on my second MacBook Air and love it. For what I use it for it does me very well.

I'm not sure you'll notice the difference. but sure, you can check the laptops in the offline store and then order. If you're not a gamer and a designer, I think air is enough for you and lightweight to carry with. otherwise, I recommend macbook pro, especially if there's an opportunity to get macbook pro 13.3 almost for free via https://drakemall.com/products/apple-macbook-pro-13-3
