Who is playing 'Caravan' in the Galaxy advert?

The title says it all. In the late 2005 Galaxy chocolate ads on TV the background music is Caravan, played in a very modern Thelonious Monk style. Can anyone confirm who is playing this track? Rgds.

Is this the rooftops advert? If so I'm desperate to find out what this is aswell......

But where did you get Caravan from? I've really drawn a blank on this one

The title of the piece is Caravan by Duke Ellington, an old jazz favourite. It'e being played in the style of Thelonious Monk, but I don't think it's actually him as it sounds just a little too modern. I might try to contact the ad agency. I'll let you know.

Hi,

I've received an answer from the ad agency which says...

'The pubishers are EMI and the track called 'Caravan' which was written by Duke Elllington but we've re- recorded it through a company called Larger than Life.'

So is it the original Monk which has been re-mastered? Or some other pianist in Monk's style?
