Boris’ majority is relatively small (he halved it in 2017) and Conservatives concede it is at risk. And the PM has to be away electioneer nationwide, neglecting his own constituency (in which he doesn’t live).

Dave, how could they do anything about it.The only way for Boris to lose his seat is if he is beaten in the election, which would mean that someone else would be th MP for that seat.

as Dave says, raise (say) Sir Christopher Chope to the peerage, creating a by-election in his (safe conservative) seat of Christchurch, into which Boris would be parachuted.

Interesting idea. Why would anyone volunteer to stand aside from their recently won safe seat? And would the voters, being asked to go and vote again for no real reason,just not bother?

Calm down, it is probably not going to happen. Saying they will mobilise young people, and actually getting them to vote are two entirely different things.

I can’t find a link but I read somewhere this morning that he said the job was more demanding than he’d anticipated – or words to that effect – so if he does lose his seat he may well be rather pleased.

And a lot of other people would be happy with that too. We should all work toward that cause.

How do you suggest we do that? You’ve been asked several times how you’re voting but as yet no answer. Some political warrior who consistently refuses to put his money where his mouth is.
