Sorry to keep harping on about this but the paracetamol I took earlier is wearing off and the pain is back. I found some Voltarol emulgel at the back of a cabinet and some heat patches. Both are out of date but have used them anyway. Neither of them are working. Would it be because they have expired or because they won't work on what I have? It was suggested I may have a frozen shoulder or bicep tendinitis.
Do I get Voltarol 2.32 gel or magic wintergreen rub and more heat patches?
I should add that I'm working and now finding it hard type and use a mouse.
I used a heat pad last night, Pixie. The ones with a click disc. That didn't work so I tried some cooling migraine pads which is all I had but they didn't work either.
The pain is in the upper arm going up to the shoulder.
Are you able to move it into all positions, even with some pain? I would get it checked properly, of course, but painkillers and exercising it as much as you can, would be good start.
Thanks mamya and tiggs x keeping it moving should be much more helpful than resting it. If you need stronger painkillers, speak to the pharmacist. Are you ok with cocodamol? X
Tiggerblue, if you cannot take an anti-inflammatory tablet, don't use it in gel form either. I have been to the pharmacist to ask that question this morning. I have either pulled or torn my hamstring and in excruciating pain.
Take care with the Volterol , as pharmacist said it still gets into your blood stream and will have the same effect as ibroprufen.
At the moment I am using a warming muscle gel before any walking, and and sitting on a gel ice pack afterwards. They are helping a little short term, trying to avoid GP but may have to give in.
