Already seeing their share price soar, Ocado want MORE.

In previous years, they upped the minimum basket price at Christmas from £40 to £90. Fair enough.

THIS year they’ve upped the delivery charge for Smart Pass shoppers from ZERO to £9.99 per delivery.

Loyalty to long-standing customers? You are, like Ocado, having a laugh.

When are they opening their christmas slots?
Barry........they have been opened and now closed.
Oh no!

Plenty still on Sunday and Monday of Christmas week - but that maybe because I'm a so-called Smart Pass customer (we pay an extra £12-ish a month for the privilege of being stitched-up for longer at Christmas).

The calendar won't go past November for me. Is there a special webpage or something?
13.10 Not so smart then really, better off keeping that for the pollution charge.
I'm a Smartpass member too. No pheasants yet
Barry, pheasants offer themselves up on the lanes near here, the last one almost took my bumper off.
zebo, I'd aim for them.
Just looked at this for M and S deliveries for my Mum, the minimum charge seems to be £6.99, do they ever do a lower delivery charge? This would be too expensive for the amount Mum buys
yes they do, you need to check the slots. I rarely pay more than 2.99 for a delivery slot, minimum order is 40 quid though.

No consistency smiley.

With Ocado, we get two deliveries a week (if we choose - we only use one), which are 'free', but we do pay £12-ish per month to be 'Smart Pass' members. Not sure what ordinary shoppers pay.

With Waitrose, we get free deliveries, and we have one a week.

Local Asdas charge various prices (£4-£6) depending on time of day, and which day.

Not sure of M&S, but in terms of size of shopping 'basket', most of them have a £40 minimum.

Sorry about your mum. It is no world to grow old in.

I'm a SmartPass member and pay £2.99 a month and have done for at least 4 years.
I have at least 9 supermarkets round me, 5 I can walk too within 10 mins, and 4, 10/15min drive, that's not counting the co.op or M&S.
my biggest problem is finding enough space/ storage for all the reduced items from all these supermarkets. :0))))))))
There are no slots past tomorrow, it only shows Mon-Wed as available but no slots Tues/Wed. No smart passes available either. Mum has just bought a second freezer in case she has to shield again so she can stock up
teacake, I have a lot of supermarkets near me too but none of them sell pheasants. We are still shielding so have to rely on deliveries.
Question Author
Barry: if you're not mistaken, I'd get on to Ocado. We've been Smart Pass for about 10 years, and never paid a penny for deliveries.

Teacake: living in NW London, there are more supermarkets than you've heard of. But if you can't walk, it doesn't help. Does it?
That's Mum's problem she can't walk far, we get her a fortnightly Asda delivery but she likes stuff from M and S. My stepfather has eyesight problems and can't always drive her to M and S
14.01 But you are paying for delivery, £12-ish a month?
Question Author
Well yes, like the ‘free’ NHS.

But for the £12 we get all the deliveries we want, and usually about 10% reduction in prices (I’ve checked).

Plus (allegedly) priority at Christmas, although this year they’re clawing back.
