Cannon Printer Wireless

Does anyone know if a wireless printer (not AirPrint) can be used to connect with a phone with a blue tooth dongle thing. Bought off Amazon but cannot get to work.

Not all Cannon Printers(or indeed other makes), what is the model no of the printer? Or if you have the user manual does it say that the printer is Bluetooth compatible. Most of the Pixma models are compatible.

Make sure your phone and your printer are on the same Wi-Fi network. Next, open the app you want to print from and find the print option, which may be under Share, Print or Other Options. Tap Print or the printer icon and select .

It is a pixma model think he said mb650? Need to ask him again but definitely pixma. He thinks maybe not the right dongle thing he got. Tried opening app and print etc but no joy nothing. If I can find the right Bluetooth dongle he needs would be great.

Get the latest drivers too. Just make sure you have the CORRECT model number.

I doubt that it's an MP460, AZ, as it would have to be around 14 years old.

I think that it's more likely to be an MG3650S, which is currently being sold on Amazon:

You will need the canon phone app Canon Inkjet/Selphy downloaded to the phone and I suspect that the printer is the MG5650. It is bluetooth able but the phone needs the app to talk via the dongle. If it is an android phone it can be downloaded from the Google playstore(I think) pcs and laptops need the app as well if wi fi is not an option.

It is mp620 he thinks about 9 years old it is wireless. He has downloaded that same app Togo just needs to know about this blue tooth thing. Thanks for everybody’s help.

That printer can only be used to print from phones via Bluetooth if it's got the optional BU-30 adaptor attached to it. They aren't easy to get hold of for such an old printer and, if you can find one, you'll probably end up paying far more for it than for the printer:

Without that adaptor, a PictBridge compliant camera or phone can be connected directly to the printer via a cable. (I tend to associate PictBridge more with cameras than with mobile phones though. There may not be many phones that support PictBridge).

[It's an executable file. You need to run it to install the manual as a program onto your PC. The relevant section is located as follows:
MP620 Series Basic Guide > Other Usages > Printing Photos Directly From Your Mobile Phone or Digital Camera].

I'd find it far easier just to download the images from the phone to a PC or laptop and print from there!

Thanks buenchico as he says he can just print from laptop to printer but thought it would be very convenient to print from his phone. Always good help on here thanks again all that’s replied to me. Here is me trying to solve m brothers problem and not solved my own.. See other post from me in technology
