Early Signs Of Covid.

On Wednesday I posted on here asking about picking up a virus.

All this week I've had a runny nose and what I call a productive cough, but apart from a headache, not feeling too bad.
Then last night I didn't get any sleep as I was coughing all through the night, burning up and my headache got worse.
My ribs are painful with all the coughing, and I just don't feel very well.
I've sent for a Covid test, but I was wondering if these cold type symptoms I started with could be the early signs of Covid?
Is this how it sometimes starts?

It is obviously a possible, could also be a cold or similar virus.

I always have a box of them to hand.

I hope it isn't as well Sqad, but I thought i would be feeling a lot better by today, and not worse.
Do you think I should stay at home until I know for sure?

Yes, it would be as well.
Your cough is interesting in that you describe it as "productive" and that would be a point in favour of not being Covid. Just dose yourself up with ibuprofen 400mgms every 4-6 hours and drink plenty.
You probably don't feel like going out anyway.

A continuous cough has long been noted as a symptom, and I hear there are many reporting a runny nose. I suspect that you have got it or had it.

I don't feel like going out, and I've no need to until Monday when I have a grocery click and collect, but my daughter has said she can pick that up for me and leave it in my hall.
The cough had been productive until last night when it was just a cough.
