Good Morning Early Birds

morning one and all, its another early start but at least it's not raining, as its been doing for days. Its still dark so can't tell what the day will bring, sunshine i hope as i need to get out of the house even for an hour.

anyone have any plans for today? I have online shopping 8-9 so there is that to sort out, and two expected phone calls, one from my brother who is off on his holidays tomorrow.

i finally got my console table fixed, it took the guy 10 minutes to assemble, and i must say I am totally underwhelmed as it would fit neatly into a large dolls house. Its not what i was expecting, nor measured. the photo was of a table nearer in height to the one i had in the hallway, but this is miniscule in comparison, So disappointment all round. I have seen something more in keeping with the space but its out of stock. So will keep this one for the moment. You live and you learn but that's an expensive lesson. I guess i could take it apart and send it back as not fit for purpose but not sure how that's done and whether one has to pay for its return.

Morning emmie, shame about your table after waiting so long for it to be put together. We had similar a few years ago when we bought a new nest of tables the big one on new set was only really the size of the smaller one on the old set.

the box it was delivered in was enormous, but inside was the smaller box and the contents were of size about a third less than my hall console table, which now resides in the living room.
I will wait a while before deciding to buy a new one. but the out of stock one isn't available till sept.

The photos they put on are often deceiving and usually in their favour.

so it would seem, its made of MDF by the looks of it, flimsy and not nice at all. for 130 quid i expected better.

How is your wife getting on, is she home now?

No not home and doctor said yesterday that they expect she will be there until at least middle of next week then maybe go on to a cottage hospital for a while. Today will also be the first time I have been to a wedding without her for over 40 years.

that's sad Tsm, sorry to hear she is still in the wars, and that you are having to go without her to the wedding.

do you know how long she is to stay at the cottage hospital?

Just have to try and enjoy it but it will be hard. Got to go for now to sort out bins which are coming today, 2 days late but can't be helped as they are short of staff due to the pinging. Didn't like to leave them out as others have done as many have to pick up stuff that has been blown all over the place.

could do with more sleep to be fair, but awake now, will see what the weather does and if its ok will go for a walk round to the park or local pub for some refreshment. If its wet as i think it will be then likely stay in, which i don't really want to do.

Morning all, grey and grizzly down here - the only plans here are for a raid or raids on Truro, the normal Saturday thing, the temple of Sparks, the co-operative of roses and the hefty American-owned boots.
