I ate some cold baked beans direct from the tin (Heinze of course). The act was done with relative politeness and not in public.
However, the person I was with virtually gagged and said it was the grossest thing they had ever seen. And continued to berate that baked beans should NEVER be eaten cold.
My question. Are cold baked beans totally acceptable?
If you want to do it, and it doesn't frighten the horses, i can't see a problem.
If your friend reckons that seeing you eating cold baked beans is the 'grossest thing they have ever seen', they have led a seriously sheltered life, and should commence getting out more - tomorrow.
if that's the grossest thing they've ever seen I'd say your mate has lead a very sheltered life. Used to eat all manner of stuff cold out of the tin in my mountaineering days.
If you've never eaten and enjoyed cold baked beans you've never been an adventurous Girl Guide or Boy Scout. It's the only way to really enjoy baked beans.
Ummmm....if you were wandering in the wilds of Northants with the food and tin opener and the group with the plates and cutlery hadn't turned up you'd eat with your fingers out of the tin...eventually..... :-)
