they are not the only options neither will be cheap. If you want cheap to run and cheap tax get a small diesel.

My wife drives a Nissan, I don't like them.

Neither.

My youngest bought a brand new (70 plate at the time) Qashqai auto with all the trimmings. It lasted one day before blowing up on her with a load of kids in the car. 2 hours later the RAC took it away and thats the last that was seen of it. Nissan never managed to get a replacement so she ended up with money back and a new Kuga.
