Pop Ups On Answerbank

Is it just me, or do there seem to be more, pop up adverts than ever on here? There seems to be a pop up after every couple of questions. I just scroll through them, but annoying all the same.

However I can see spaces where ads are meant to appear after the 2nd, 5th, 8th, 11th, 14th, 17th and 20th posts on each page. As far as I can recall, it's been like that for a very long time.
The only pop-up ads I see are those which appear at the bottom of my screen and which are easily closed by clicking on the 'X' at the top right of them.
It's the ads that pay for the site though. (As I've indicated already, I'm not trying to block them. Indeed, I've even emailed the Ed to say that they're not appearing where they should be. However they're simply not showing up in my browser).

If you're seeing over-sized ads, that render the site's content almost invisible, I suspect that AB's techies would like to know what type of device (and also which browser) you're using.
There are effectively three parallel versions of The AnswerBank. That's one for desktop/laptop PCs, one for tablets and one for mobile phones, with devices automatically selectin the correct version to be displayed. Most of the problems in the past seem to have been with the tablet version, particularly when displayed on an iPad with Safari as the choice of browser.

Bob:
If I come to the site wthout being logged in, I see loads of ads. As soon as I log in though, almost all of the ads disappear. (As I said above, I've contacted the Ed to say that this is happening. The techies seemed to think that it might only be happening with moderator accounts but your post seems to suggest otherwise).

I used to brag that I had hardly any ads. No more. This morning I wanted to throw my tablet across the room. I'd tick the little x...and the same damn HUGE ad would come back. Over...and over.
Also, as I scroll down the page, as I approach any of these horrors the page starts jumping.
It's all definitely gotten worse, and affects the functioning and enjoyment (?) of AB.
Reminding those of us who DO see them that they pay for the site does not make them any more tolerable.

Hi, Smurfchops:
I'm unsurprised to read that you're experiencing problems accessing The AnswerBank on an iPad. Other AB members (e.g. Caran) have been reporting similar problems for many years now.
As I've never used an iPad in my life, I don't know whether using a different browser might help but it could be worth a try. The most obvious choice is probably Chrome

but Dolphin is well-respected too
