Good Morning Sunday Birds.
Hope we're all ok? Fairly quiet weekend here - have been in an awful lot of pain re spine and hurting to just even move which is making me very miserable and tearful but hey ho.
Have been reading about so many people have done all their Xmas shopping, ordered all their food etc etc already! It's weeks away! And as much as I love Xmas, it's really just one day! Everyone I know orders all this extra food for Xmas Day 'supper' - cheeses, nibbles etc etc but after stuffing themselves silly with Xmas dinner none of them can ever manage it and it doesn't get touched lol. And of course the things that everyone buys but rarely get touched - like Xmas cake? Does anyone actually eat it??
What are we all up to today then? If I can get myself unlocked and able to move then I wanted to attempt to sweep all the leaves on the patio again before they become a dangerous soggy slippy mess!

We are having a light festival in town where there is a lot going on, so will go to that.
Sorry to hear you are still in so much pain, did you have the scan you were hoping for?
Right I am wandering down the road to get some fancy bread and a cup of coffee.
Good morning Smow, sorry to hear you are in so much pain. Don't even think about the leaves on the patio as you will have to bend down to collect them when you have swept them up. Get Mr Smow to do it.
I suppose you are paying the cost of your travels last weekend and doing the long drive. Could you not go and see a medical practicioner privately to help you with the pain as the NHS seems to be taking so long?
I have my xmas cake off my sister in law,who is Jamaican, and their version is much better than ours! Plus the fruit has been steeped in white rum before it is used and goes in like a puree. Also it keeps a long while so doesn't end up drying out.
Refuse to consider Xmas until last week in November and I am a bit of a "bah humbug" type of person, perhaps because I spent so many years teaching 7-11 year olds and by the time the holidays came I was all Christmased out!!
Good morning...almost afternoon.
Smow, have you tried alternating ice and heat packs? I know they are recommended for back and muscle issues, so might not be suitable. One gets blood flowing, and the other reduces inflammation. It does help. Maybe worth a try.
I'll be going to my daughter's for Christmas and always get fed well. In the past they've made beef Wellington and lobster thermidor. They are both good cooks.
