When I walk I've started limping at first, I thought it maybe my right knee, but that's been xrayed and there is nothing abnormal apart from some wear and tear that has not any worse than it was 2 years ago at the last xray, it seems its now, coming from my back ankle, like a stiffness/weakness rather than actual pain and I cannot understand why it's causing me to limp, I am waiting on a physio appointment.

Thd older you get the more you can weaken a little. Get it checked out by all means but dont let it worry you into the ground. Example, I've been out and about a lot this week wearing my walking boots that I 've not worn for a few months, tonight my feet and ankles feel a little weak. My mum who will soon be 104 soon always tells me to take things slower and listen to what your body is telling you. Weakness is telling you to rest a little.
