Is anybody surprised? I am - I thought it would be higher.

It's the market, nothing to see here.

They aim to bring it down to the 2% target in the summer. I doubt if that's possible with the current lot but we'll see.

Food is the main problem.  That really affects everyone but hits hardest at the poorest.  

As an aside, my fairly pathetic pension (which seemed OK to retire on 15 years ago) isnow keeping me just above the limit forclaiming all sorts of benefits.  On calculations at the time - I was going to be fine.

That's the thing. Price rises on necessities hit everyone at the same time. Whereas wage rises are received, by those young enough to be in work, immediately. Even if your small pension is linked to inflation or to wage rises, you still have to wait until it has been reassessed at the end of the year.

I thought that too but someeconomists apparenty think the VAT on school fees has a lot to do with it.

And again when the EHI bites and prices rise to pay for it.

Robber seems to not realised that businesses are not charities.

Mind yu she has clobbered the charities with the EHI as well.

Evil incompetant woman.
