No they shouldn't, they should be concentrating on their work which they cant do with a child running around.

Absolutely you cannot be working if you are babysitting.

I personally think this is one of the main reasons people are getting called back to the office.

on the face of it no.  however, my job for example can be done any time of day.  in the off school days of covid i used to do the school day with my daughter then work during her lunch, her pe time, her after school (watching the tv) and then after tea and when she was in bed.

i wouldnt want to do that long term tho

Should anyone be allowed to work from home if there is a garden that needs tending there, or shopping that needs doing ?

It's just that I know someone who does this three days a week (public sector obviously) and now only pays for child care for two days a week! Should be sacked!

They could have a SWA in place.

Have they told you that they work whilst providing childcare?
