Saturday afternoon pub - Old Street

I'm organising a saturday afternoon booze-up for a 30th birthday party next week. I'm looking for a bar roughly near Old Street in London that serves food, is quite funky and is likely to play good tunes in the afternoon.

Any ideas?

there is only one thing I know near Old Street, which is the German Beer House.
Not sure about their opening times on the weekend, but friends of mine (18-60) loved it, when I took them there recently.
