Chocolate hangover?
9 Answers
I have eaten almost 2 bars of galaxy promises chocolatein the last couple of days. I hadnt tried it before but it was reduced in Kwik save so i bought 2 bars. It was very nice so ate 1 bar straightaway and the part bar yesterday .I couldnt finish it all as it was quite rich.
Now i know that this isnt excessive for some people but it is for me.
I woke up this morning feeling like sh**e- achey and 'heady' with a rasping voice .My legs felt trembly on getting out of bed.In fact just as if I had a wild night out.
So - is it possible to get a 'chocolate hangover '? Or is a coincidental virusy thing do you think?

It started at the cinema where I bought a "JUMBO" bag of Minstrels (not greed you understand, these are the only size available) and about halfway through, I started to feel light headed and to shake slightly. This has happened every time I eat more than two or three squares.
Chocolate contains caffeine, don;t forget- which in large doses can cause the shakes and headaches. If you eat Green and Blacks dark (70%) choc, it is caffeine and dairy free, and so should not give you the nasties. Unless it is sugar that isthe problem. Sugar would give you a high, followed by a low.
THanks everyone for your answers. It was dark/light chocolate with bits in so I was suspicious that there was something nasty(aspartame) hidden in it.
However Im feeling no better though so possibly it is a virus.
I had chemo last year and it feels very similar to the side effects - if you have had this bug can you tell me how long it lasts for?

Sorry Banana but It started Friday around 9pm for me, came back every 4ish hours without the Beechams, and although I've had moments of I'm over it. Felt awful at 3a.m today (woke up) then great again this morning. However starting to get more chesty type symptoms rather than aches & pains. Online now and upright, so needless to say, having another feeling that it's gone. Colleague tells me that this happened to her and hers lasted 10 days. But I have been OK for about 6 hours, with a cough & mild headache, a bit loose though (didn't really want to divulge that...but in the name of science)
