Certain members arent happy with by sample / download links
to my own site as they feel it spoils this site. I havent heard
anything from moderators (but complaints have been made) so I'll desist
from further postings.

Ive noticed that you usually piggy back some of my answers mickey.
I suppose i could be precious about it but really youre just trying to make a buck arent you and you are supplying a service (especially when the question includes 'does anyone where i can download ..........?")

Ive done a bit of writing (factual) in my time and if i thought i could answer a question better by diverting someone to a piece i had written it would be alright - if mickey makes a couple of quid for doing the same good luck to him i say.

We've all gotta make a living havent we?

Oops sorry - itchy trigger finger. As I was saying, as someone who has seen several of my answers followed by the infamous words "Sample / download here" :-), I don't really see what all the fuss is about. If the moderators aren't bothered about the free advertising, I don't see why anyone else should complain. After all, they don't have to click on your links if they don't want to, do they?

I now use mikeydred site in the first instance when I want to find out the music in an ad and I have yet to fail to get the answer , so more power to your elbow and so what if you make a bit of cash off it why the h*ll should you not

Ta for the supportive posts. While yes I'm promoting my site, I like to think I'm adding content by allowing people to listen / buy the items involved. However to stop any ill feeling I'll only post links when I'm answering the questions in future..

..however if anyone else wants to use the links on my site to "enhance their postings" I wont complain
