How come blue cross animal ads ask for 3 a month to house a few dogs, when Oxfam et al can use the same amount to set up clean water for whole villages? They really try and tug the heart strings with their sad music and 'poor doggy' shots, but I can't see this as a good use of money in relative terms.

Blue Cross works in the UK and have to pay Minimum Wage, high rents etc. - 3 won't pay for an hour of a workers time. Oxfam works in the Third World where 3 is more than a week's wage. What I'd like to know is why it's a ROYAL Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals but only a NATIONAL Society when it comes to children....
Correct of course ralph; and the answer to the second part is probably judged from the royal interests in each.Have you seen how much interest they've shown in the raising of their own children? And the results?Obvious really!
