Free downloads

Does anyone know of any websites where i can get safe FREE music/film downloads? I've tried Kazaa and Shareaza but i thought they weren't any good and also didn't really seem to be able to receive a 'signal'. Unfortunately, being a student, I can't afford to pay any fees and a lot of them say they're free and then require a set up once only charge!

Also, what re-recordable cd's/ dvd's can I use on my stereo/dvd/ walkman as I found that some can only be used on my pc. I don't have an mp3 player.

You can use a rewritable CD-R for either:

1) 80 minutes of music to play on an ordinary CD player or

2) 700MB of music (about 10 times more) to play only on a DVD player/ MP3 compatible CD player

Bearshare have a free version which I have heard is very good, you can also upgrade to the pro version for a small fee once you have given it a try.

Having posted on a public message board I feel I need to say that laws are coming down on shareware and they are prosecuting people for breach of copyright so be careful!

When I have downloaded Limewire, I cant actually open it - is it something to do with my firewall? I remember downloading a year or so ago and then clicked on something on my computer and it then worked. But I cant remember what I did to get it working?? Does anyone know why I cant open Limewire when downloaded? Any help much apprecited.
