Does anyone know what the advert was for where they stick a man on the side of a skyscrapper and then leave him. It is for some sort of glue, maybe unibond?
Not the pepsi max advert.

It was for Solvite wallpaper paste, I think. The best-known one was where they stuck him to the underside of and aeroplane wing.
yes, Solvite

Good man!!
I read an article years ago in a paper which said that the advert was for real - they actually did stick the man's overalls to the board, put him in them and hung him from a plane only using Solvite. Apparantly it had to be true because trading standards would not have allowed them to get away with using anything else. I can't really believe it myself but thats what the article said.
I remember that there also was a version of this ad where the guy was glued to a board and suspended over a pit of snakes/crocodiles (I can't quite remember which one)
Yes, I too can cofirm that it is definitely an advert for Solvite wallpaper adhesive. There was also one where the guy was put over a snake pit, you can view it here:

...and a litle bit of trivia for you too:

The guy stuck to the board referred to as 'Terry Edwards' really was Terry Edwards, part of the UK management team! He left that job on June 30th, 1995. What a guy, happy to put his product to the test!
