If you mean the "de-de-de-de-de da, de-de-de-de-de da da" tune (sorry, best I could do!), the early Human League LP "Travelogue" contains a track called "Gordon's Gin" that was featured in many a cinema ad around that period. It's listed as by Jeff Wayne.
