Anybody know why the Muse song has been replaced on the Nescafe ad with some horrible imitation? I bet there's a really juicy licencing story behind it all. Spill the beans!

Rights to music and voice over artists are expensive. You'll often find for the first three monts or so of a campaign they'll use a well known vocal talent. Once the campaign has been noticed, they'll replace the voice over with "cheaper talent". This may simply be the case. As a quick anacdote, London Underground originally employed an actor to record "Mind the Gap" for stations with a curve on the line (causing a gap to form on the arc between the platform and rail cars) The artist concerned wanted repeat fees every time it was played, so they got one of the engineers to record the voice over instead for a small flat fee!
