does anyone know what the song is in the advert for a university and some of the lyrics are 'baby, let me put my loving arms around you'

The song is called "Your loving arms" by German female singer Billie Ray Martin and was a hit twice first in Nov 94 (got to No38) and then again in May 95 when it hit the top ten (No8) after being remixed.

I just did a lyric search and the lyrics from the advert don't match those for the song given...does anyone else know the song title?

I'm sorry, I don't actually know the answer, but I have been searching for the title and artist of this song, too. I have not seen/heard the advert; however, I have just a few seconds' worth of this song on a cassette tape I recorded off the radio, years ago. When I did a Web search on the same phrase, recently, the only result I got was for this page on the Answerbank!!! I don't know why it isn't in any of the online lyrics databases-- the song wasn't *that* obscure!! I think the phrase is actually, "Hey baby, let me put my loving arms around you, girl..." ...I'm sure about the word "Hey," but not positive about the word "girl". The song must have been around since before 1991-1992, because that is when I recorded the cassette tape. The singer's voice reminded me of Rod Stewart, but I haven't been able to find those particular lyrics in any of Rod's songs, thus far in my search. So perhaps it isn't Rod. I will keep looking and let you know what my investigation reveals, if anything! And please, if you find out first, share the answer with me...

this is an answer I had from someone at the University and you will see I still don't know who sang it. 'Ok, So the guy who wrote the track is called Richard Myhill and the track is called, 'Let me Baby'. As to who sang the actual version on the commercial - well, that is proving to be hard knowledge to find. The library themselves don't know and are trying to get in touch with Richard Myhill who will be able to tell them/us/you. So in a nutshell: The track is called, 'Let me Baby' by Richard Myhill performed by as yet an 'unknown' singer.
