4 Answers
Some one on here said that I could recharge duracell.I've got a charger that has two settings. One is ''Ni Cad'' I think, and the other is something else. Which one shall I use and should I recharge it for the same amount of time I would recharge a rechargable battery?

So firstly you have to ensure that your battery is of a rechargeable type as you can't just recharge any old battery. Then you need to know that your recharger is suitable for the type of battery to be recharged as some chargers are type specific. Be cautious because there is danger of fire or explosion if you get it wrong. If you can't find the instructions with your battery charger and / or you are uncertain about what battery you've got I would suggest that you call in at somewhere like Dixons, for example, and ask for advice.
Innovations Battery Manager Ultra and alkaline batteries; Duracell batteries which have about 50% life left; They are ideal for recharging and usually refresh "as new" after a few hours on the charger. However after about 10 charges, some batteries may leak - but these are usually ones which were virtually flat when I tried to recharge them, or ones that I left in the charger for a week!
I think this product has been repressed by battery companies so it's hard to find.
also, now there are rechargeable alkaline batteries coming on the market. Who knows what the future might bring!
There's no settings on the Innovations Battery Manager Ultra, you just bung 'em in, takes about 10 hours for 4 AA's to go from 1.2v [not much good] to 1.6 [charged] then you get an almost good as new usage from them, you can do this about 10 times. The unit costs about 15 i guess, mine 5 in the Argos sale.
