2012 London Olympics cancelled
In response to the Stern review, Blair and Brown have demonstrated their leadership and announced that the Olympic project is going to be cancelled. They have rightly and courageously realised that the vast building projects that are required for staging the games plus the vast amount of air travel that any games constitutes would add considerably to the carbon emissions and greatly hasten climate change. Bravo!!. Stern said we have to act now and they have acted firmly and decisively and saved the world.

It must be very frustrating for him to have such an environmentalist as Cameron running the Tories because whenever he criticises Labour environmental policy the question "What would the Tories do differently" arises.
To which the question of course is "well we don't know because they haven't agreed on any policies yet - but probably very little"
Still at least David Cameron has a windmill on his house! - Three cheers for Eton!

jake has been spouting the mantra that the proven liar Blair spouts every time at PMQs. when challenged about anything, the usual line is what would the Torys have done. or better still they will talk about the pre 1997 times. Blair has been castigated for it in open parliament by the Speaker of the house but he will shamelessly continue in that vein. Well done Jake, nothing more was expected of you.
Isn't that politics in a nutshell?
The Opposition constantly criticising the Government, yet, if they were in power, would have had exactly the same policy / done the same thing?
The Government of the day constantly referring to how worse things were before they were in power?
For a second Dom , you had me fooled into thinking that you actually believed that when / if the Tories come to power they would never stoop so low as to refer to how bad things were between 1997 and 20?? or to question what Labour would have done?
