Motorcycle parking.

My grandson parked his moped in a car parking space not realising he can only park in the designated bike spaces and got a ticket for 30 pounds. He is going to write and explain. ( He has only had the bike for about 2 months). What do you think the chances are of him not having to pay the fine. He is at college

If he can't tell a car parking space from a bike space there is not much hope of him passing his test. Tell him to get a push bike!

Always dispute parking tickets, I do, got off around 60% of them, be nice though.

kwicky. Thats not nice. He is a lovely lad just made a geniune mistake. He has a pushbike also but college is a bit too far. He is not one of your yobby teenagers. He wouldn't be, he's my grandson. homer75. I am not a tight arse really I am not and I am sure his grandad would pay it. He has written a nice polite letter, so we wil have to see

Take advice from Toureman,and stick with it,there is no way he should pay the fine if he bought a ticket to park.

As he can write a letter tell him to read the high way code as it does state in the regarding the car park rules?

I don't think they will release the fine and it will be �30 if you paid it asap you would of got a �15 fine for quick payment if he leaves it to long he will get �60 and small claims court apparance!!

Thanks for the replies. I have to say no wonder some youngest feel put down like they do. OK! he made a mistake for which he will learn by. To say if he can write a letter get him to read the highway code is, well there's is no need for that. He is not an idiot just a youngster who made a mistake like we all have sometime in our lives I expect.

Just an update. He got a reply and they waived the fine. Just goes to show, it's worth a try and he knows better now.
