I read that it is live, although occasionally they pre-record particular guests if producers are worried they might use strong language.

Thank you so much for this information. I did wonder if they had recorded the show from time to time , but now I know Paul only really works three days a week. Good luck to him. He needs to take careof himself.

Frankie Dettori said something last week which indicated it was not live - can't remember what it was, but it was either about yesterday or tomorrow if you see what I mean.

Show is definitely not live .. just look at the newspaper ads wanting audiences - for shows it says are recorded M-T-W at 12.30 and 4.30.
Last week's appearance by Des Lynam (exhausted from travelling up to Leeds once a month to record Countdown) and Carol Vorderman (taking a welcome break from persuading people to borrow �25,000 and pay back �42,000 over 15 years) was a hoot.
At 5.15 they were delighting Paul's audience at C4 - and almost to the second telling all on Capital Radio's genuinely life drivetime show.
