Yes it is HD Ready but not an HDTV !! This may sound confusing and indeed it is - I've looked on Samsungs website and found the following information.
If it is a HDTV - you should be able to see some HD connector sockets on the back. They are like a large USB. Have another look in the instructions at the diagram of the back of the TV and you should see them listed there. Apart from that, that's all you need as your source (Sky, Cable HD ) will do the rest. But I've had a look at the online brochure and found the following.
The specs do say it is HDTV Ready

However it isn't an HDTV.

"HD Ready Panels - The Ultimate Visual Experience
All of SAMSUNGs LCD TVs above 23 are High Definition Ready. These new standards in TV have an improved resolution of up to 1366 x 768 meaning more visual information on the screen, resulting in the best image you the viewer have ever experienced "
This does not mean it is a HDTV.
It needs to say this :
"HDMI Digital Connectivity - Perfect Audio Visual Reproduction"
Not often do you get small TV's that are HDTV's - you usually have to go above 23 inches.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news !!
