The winner of Celebrity Big Brother
20 Answers
On Tv last night I witnessed the winner of Celebrity Big Brother Shilpa Shetty, leaving the house to face a barrage of fireworks, cameras by the dozens flashing, and the screams of over excited females.
Today on the TV news they had a live link with Mumbai, India. On this, their link man was saying that the whole of India was celebrating Shilpa's incredible achievement, and that she herself must be very proud at what she has accomplished. Excuse me am I missing something here? Has she climbed Everest, Reached the Pole, sailed single handed round the world, or more important solved the situation in the Middle East.
No she has done none of these things, all she has had to do is stay in a pretend house for a few weeks, alongside other failed celebs. Let's all now come down to earth and get things in the right perspective.

Jade has no discernable talent (can't sing, dance, act etc), but what she was liked for, was that she was a loveable 'one of us' kinda person.
What I mean by 'ruining her career' is that she could've easily continued releasing fitness videos, making chat show appearances and selling dubious perfumes for years to come...but now she's ruined that.
Yes, she's made an estimated 2million, but you'd be surprised how quickly that goes when you're somone in her position. She still has a production company to run, a PA to pay etc etc.
Also, there will be tax implications on her current year end earnings. Celebs need to continue earning considerable amounts to maintain their lifestyle.
However, remember when David Beckham was public enemy number one (after getting sent off for kicking another player during a crucial stage of Euro '96)?
Well, with good management, he was able to turn it all around.
It could happen with Jade, but then again, she needs good management, and maybe her time and now come and gone.

I went into my local chemists the other day. There were two products being heavily advertised with celebrities pictures etc.
One was for mens after shave and it was Zidane the fotballer, whose last claim to fame was being sent off in the World Cup final for head butting someone.
The other was for womens perfume and this was Kate Moss, whose recent claim to fame is taking a banned class A drug, and going out with a loser musician also known for drug taking.
Seems there is no such thing as bad publicity.

Although I can't really defend Kate Moss, VHG's example of Zidane wasn't really very helpful...the incident itself was regarded as out of character for him, and he was provoked.
There may be a hullaballoo (is that spelt right? Hmm) over this, but probably not in reputable media.
Can't remember who said it, but the statement that a modern "millionaire" lifestyle requires at least 10 million is very accurate.

Leaving aside Hammer Head's bizarrely random air strike on my intellectual abilities, you raise an interesting point...there seems to a threshold to which people will 'forgive' celebrities, and it depends as much on how they behave afterwards as much as what they do.
For instance, Gary Glitter will never be forgiven, and will never work again. However, Michael Jackson might just be able to make a comeback.
There are others however, who are dead ducks because of much lesser transgressions (Anthea Turner for instance).
If I were a betting man, I'd say that Jade Goody with a bit of luck and clever management will see herself on the front page of Heat at some point in the next couple of years.

Here's all the evidence Hammer-Head needs: a posting by
sp1814 on Tue 23/01/07 which reads:
"Look...sorry, but THECORBYLOON frequently writes the kind of posts I would like to write, but I have neither the intellect or education to support. ...surely you know now that I'm not jumping on the bandwagon. I'm driving the bandwagon, and my dad's the conductor."
Enough said.

Not being picky Ctrak but you did ask the correct spelling is hullabaloo only one L before the double OOs.
Maybe you would find this handy? download this programme Answers.com. This is very useful if you are not sure about a spelling, just point on the word you have typed, press the Alt key and press the left mouse button at the same time, a window will pop up and tell you about the word etc.
You also get a little tag on the right hand side of your screen, press on this and the answer bar will shoot out with a window into which you can type anything then press the arrow and it will open up a page telling you everthing about that subject or word, just as a search engine does. A very handy tool to download onto your computer.

Good Lord!
I had no idea that my previous statements could be used against me. Now I know how John Prescott feels.
craigiep, let me just explain...THECORBYLOON frequently posts well thought out, and well argued messages and I admire his intellectual grasp on a range of subjects.
I would like to post argu...
Hang on - why am I defending myself here?
I don't need to.
All I shall say on the subject is "Yaa boo...sucks to you".
Remember, this is supposed to be about Shilpa Shetty, not sp1814.

Thank you sp1814, it would be nice to get back to the original subject.
Why whenever you contribute to a question on this site, does it all end up in a slanging match between you and your opponents? Entertaining though it may be, but it does tend to stray away from the posters original question.
Word of advice if I may? Learn not to take the bait.
