Have you never heard of mixed-race families, or do you have a problem with them? Where on earth do you live, to have such a blinkered view of nationality? And why assume 'Chinese', as there are several oriental nationalities that could be in his family tree. Admittedly the scenario is terrible in the ad, but the child acts well and it seems crass to make racist remarks regarding children (or adults...who else is sick of hearing about Jade Goody?). I view it as racist from a personal view cos I have an oriental surname and some English people take it upon themselves to ask whether I am oriental...yeah, sure, with long blonde hair and really white skin...ho ho..The world is shrinking and people such as yourself are going to look outdated if you can't accept that people have the right to come in all shades and colours. Grow up
hey calm the hell down you!!!!!!!!!!!!! just for the fr$$cking record MY HUSBAND is CHINESE and WE have a 14 year old daughter SO GET A GRIP, none of this "some of my best friends are ethnic" SH$$ FROM ME DEAR! I made an innocent remark about a 'crap' advert THATS ALL! so get over yourself and get off your podium
I just prefer to see 'people' and like to speak to them without analysing their facial characteristics...a lot of oriental people are racist too, in the same way that Japanese and Koreans interact much in the same way as English and Irish. You make a lot of assumptions, for example that I do not have an oriental family (which I have not commented on). The oriental part of my family cannot often differentiate between Korean, Japanese and Chinese people when they are in this country, as their mannerisms, speech and dress are modified to fit in with this culture.
Personally I don't keep pens and paper in the toilet as I think it is unhygienic but I know media people who need to write down thoughts, lyrics etc on the spur of the moment...I don't know why you find this advert so strange; it is no more irritating than any other cleaning advert, really - it seems to be the boy that you detest.

name me ONE assumption that i have made about you or your family????? abosolutely NONE, i care not a jot whether you are black white polker dot or striped, christ almighty it was a simple post.......... but as you are 'green' i will forget it, oh and by the way..........not being racist (as i cant be, my bleeding family are all chinese dont forget) just referring to your username, dont take yourself (and others so seriously)
Blimey Curly, looks like you found a live one there!!!
I just thought I'd have my 2 cents worth (but don't go asuming I'm American though!)
I couldn't agree with you more. I hate the advert soooooo much that I have to switch over, and for all the reasons you point out. It also makes me wonder how come this kid is so damn good at drawing air freshening devices? Maybe he is regularly locked in the bathroom with just a pad of paper and a pen, and he's got really good at drawing them!
Also, I think Mum should take the kid to the doctors, as he is clearly repused by his own smell, so there must be something wrong!!!
Anyway, that's it. I'm off to practise drawing the air freshener in my bathroom, just in case I ever run out.
