Not an advert but every morning on talksport, they play a song that is dubbed "The famous Mr Ed" all about a talking horse. It's played at around 6.50 to introduce Derek Thompson's horse racing feature.

A horse is a horse of course of course
And no one can talk to a horse of course
That is of course
Unless the horse
Is the famous Mr Ed
....I am mister Ed

Anyone heard of it and can anyone tell me what the "official" song title is and who sang the original.

Many thanks

There was an American tv programme called Mr Ed (about a talking horse) and the theme tune went something like that. I think it was made in the 60's but I remember it being on tv in the 80's when I was a kid. No idea who the singer was though!
hammerman, the tune you hear was the theme tune to a sixties television comedy series called 'Mr Ed' it was about a talking horse (Mr Ed) and his owner Wilbur Post (played by Allan Young) who was the only person who could hear him talk. Mr Ed was a palomino saddlebred who according to the credits was played by himself, although he was actually voiced by Allan Dane. The theme tune was sung by Jay Livingston who also wrote the theme.
The series ended in 1966, and I can remember watching it and singing along with the theme tune - as a VERY small child... or maybe its the repeats I remember! Don't reckon Mr Ed would be able to give you any better tips than Derek Thompson though.
