I find this piece achingly beautiful. Why isn't Elgar more respected within the classical world

He may be some way behind the giants like Beethoven, Tchaikovsky and Mozart, but there's certainly no shortage of recordings of his work, particularly in the UK.
Anyway, keep your eyes and ears open for some stuff on Elgar over the next few months (hopefully) - it's his 150th birthday on 2nd June, so I would expect Radio 3, Classic FM and major classical music record labels to be marking this in some way (it would be pretty inexcusable if they don't).
