Whilst eating M&M's last night in the dark a frightening thought came to me. I was on a long car journey, and happily getting through the bag, when suddenly all I tasted was an M&M which must have been Emulsion Paint flavour! I immediately flicked on the interior light to check to see if maybe there was a competition being run, and I had inadvertently eaten the 'Golden M&M' and would have to have my stomach pumped to claim my cash prize.....needless to say I hadn't. But it made me wonder....what would you do if you were blind?!!!! for instance, Powerball Dishwasher detergent ran a competition where if you found the 'Golden Powerball' you won money, but if you can't see in the first place...how would you know!

i suspect you would ask one of your friends or family who could see. doesn't that seem the most obvious thing to do?

can you get fined for eating M&M's in the car as well as using yer phone, these days??

...that's a pants answer....my friends would get pretty p&**ed off if I get asking them round everytime I thought I'd won anything ;-) ....and I wasn't driving at the time. I am female and therefore better at multi-tasking than men, but even my superpowers prevent me from driving, talking on the phone, eating M&M's and putting on the interior light to examine half-eaten chocalate/peanut combinations to see if I'm a winner....I will work on it tho!
I agree, a pants answer. I "think" (cos i can't confirm) that the manufacturers make the winning M&M/Powerball larger than the rest, or there is some distinction, so that blind/visually impaired aren't hampered from claiming the winner
Perhaps they have 'you have won' in braille on the item, but it begs the question - how would the blind person know there was a competition on in the first place unless they did something on the outside of the packaging as well. They'd just think - oh, a knobbly m&m.

Exactly, I suppose I never thought about it before, shopping must be a nightmare....I like the idea of subtle differences in the winning Powerball size....I can sleep at night. There are just so many ways you could be ripped off.
