Sorry, but Nina Simone's version is NOT the original! The original is the immortal 1956 version by Screamin' Jay Hawkins, and it is infinitely better - indeed, unsurpassable. Technically, the original was an earlier version he did a year or two before, but the 1956 one was the one that was released and which gained him instant notoriety.
