the csa say we owe 20k
0 Answers
My husband of 3 years (together for 6) has only just received a letter from the CSA stating he owe over 20k for maintenance. His child is now 19 with a baby on the way. They have kept contact on and off depending upon the teenage tamtrums we've been thru. When he left the ex she had been sleeping with both his best friend and female friends also. On the point of suicide he left and was taken in my a very good friend of ours who helped him get back on the straight and narrow. I must add that the ex got the house the car and both motor bikes. He also gave the ex regular payments until she stopped all access. Then cheques he sent were never cashed etc. We now have a house in my name (bought before we met) my daughter and our 7 month old son. We are just starting to make a good life for ourselves and this lands on us. What do we do?? Where do we go?? We cannot afford to pay 20k (payable immediately). Yet when it came to claiming CSA for my daughter from my ex he was unable to pay as he was now on invalidity.....which was a scam. Fortunately for me he is now dead, as it turned out he was a pedophile, he commited suicide. What are the repercussions for our family. Will I have to sell my home, am I going to lose my family because he cannot afford to make payments. If he refused will he go to jail?? If he goes to jail I lose the home anyway, I cannot afford the mortgage on my own now, as I remortaged to renovate the house. I think I am on the point of suicide now? Can some one help or point me in the right direction. I love my husband dearly we have both been to hell and back and found each other. We have a happy healthy family and I think this might break one of us?
