He was in Family Affairs. He was also in the early series of Teachers. He was friendly with the teacher Simon. I think he got caught with dope.

I'm so sorry. I had the wrong advert in mind, completely.
I've just seen the PC World ad and you're right. He was in Crossroads. He played Phil the young doorman who was in love with the owners' daughter. This was the first of the Crossroads' comeback, before Jane Asher. He had an abusive stepfather and a Geordie mum who was on the run from her husband. They killed him and buried the body. We never did find out the outcome and what happened to the daughter. Kate, the girl's mum, carried on in the next new Crossroads, but none of the rest of the family was in it.
